This Friday could well be the biggest day in Croydon band Ten Foot Nun's seven year history.

The punk-prog outfit will be premiering songs from their first full-length album, to be released later this year, at Scream Lounge.

It will be the first time they have performed all of the material live in one go and lead singer Jon Roffey, who works at Scream Lounge, admitted it's been a long journey to get to where they are now.

"We have recorded numerous EPs, mini-albums, soundtracks and done loads of special one-off live performances," he says.

"But have only got it together recently to make a full length album, which is in the mixing stages as we speak.

"It’s been a slog as we’ve done the whole thing ourselves on a laptop in stolen moments at various locations around town, so the album has a patchwork-quilt kind of feel to it.

"No two songs sound like they were recorded in the same place and we were still writing, arranging and learning a lot of the music while we were recording, right up to the editing stage.

"I think most other bands learn the material before starting, but where’s the fun in that?

"This is the first time we have ever performed all of this material live in one go.

"Our usual approach to gigs is to perform short, blasting sets, so we don’t often get the chance to play our longer, more musical stuff, but it’ll all be in there at this show."

The four-piece, described as Zappa-meets-the-Ramones, will be supported by garage rock trio Los, whose guitarist Chris Hamilton produced Ten Foot Nun’s first recordings back in 2003.
