New Addington-based band Muscats face a make-or-break week next week as they launch their debut single.

The four-piece indie-ska band, which includes brothers Dave and Jon Fleckney who grew up in Shirley, guitarist Tommy Ryan and drummer Dan Dale, are currently touring the country promoting Face Up, which is available to download from Monday.

They have a short term deal with Atomica Records to release the single and do the tour, with a better deal involving an album should Face Up prove a success, in the pipeline.

"The tour has been brilliant," says Dave.

"It is one of the best things we have ever done and we have played in some really big cities and some small and lovely places we would never go to otherwise.

"We are telling everyone about the single and spreading the word.

"It is our catchiest tune that we have and everyone says it gets in your head.

"The deal is for this single and tour and if it goes well then we will hopefully get a better deal and an album deal."

The single is available on all major download sites and the band will be back in Croydon on April 22 when they play The Ship.
