The fun of the roaring twenties and thirties comes to Fairfield Halls on Wednesday afternoon in the form of Britain’s favourite hot swing orchestra, The Charleston Chasers.
With a 10-piece orchestra and three vocalists, the show is jam packed with toe-tapping hits from the golden age of musicals, including the happy sounds of Al Jolson, Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, Charlie Kunz, George Gershwin, Al Bowlly and Hoagy Carmichael.
The audience will also be treated to familiar tunes such as Swanee, Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue, The Charleston, Stardust, California Here I Come, The Clouds Will Soon Roll By and some exciting lesser known gems.
Led by singer and percussionist Debbie Arthurs, the Chasers celebrated their 20th anniversary two years ago are have performed many broadcasts on the BBC and appeared at major music festivals and theatres all over the UK.
Famous names David Jacobs, Pete Murray, Angela Rippon, Eric Knowles and Toyah Wilcox have also all appeared on stage with them.
