Gospel music is taking over Fairfield Halls next week as Jofish Muzik in association with We Sing U Sing present the five-day long Summer Song Gospel Music Festival.

It's the first time in Croydon's history it has had such a festival and it's a pretty big one too, with more than 2,000 performers taking part during the course of the week, from amateur to professional and from primary school children to MOBO award winners.

Jofish Muzik is a music and entertainment production company owned by John Fisher, who has more than 20 years of experience in the music industry, that has worked with We Sing U Sing and IDMC for the past six years developing the talents of young people across London.

For the past three months their professional singers and musicians have been working in primary and secondary schools, after school clubs and adult centres in and around Croydon to develop performers for the coming extravaganza.

On top of the school children who form a major part of the celebration, there will also be appearances from established artists such as Noel Robinson, Dave Daniels, Jahaziel (winner of best gospel act at the 2008 MOBO awards), Michaela, Tryumf, Dawn Thomas Wallace, Guvna B, Victizzle and Alan Charles.

Programme: Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday (7pm, £10): The biggest cross borough schools gospel celebration this summer with a 500-piece mass choir each night under the direction of award-winning tutor and director John Fisher.

Thursday: (7.30pm, £8) Join some of the UK's top RnB, hip hop, grime, garage and reggae artists for a huge celebration.

Friday (7.30pm, £15): The A-list of British gospel artists, an all star band, guest presenters and much more come together for the main event that will be recorded for later transmission on TV.
