In the middle of a housing estate in Crystal Palace something quite remarkable and unexpected is happening.

Six months ago, in Kingswood House in Kingswood Estate, Dominic Dadson and friends set up The Cordless Show, an online music show giving unsigned acts the chance to perform live in front of camera and have their work showcased to the world.

It's the first of its type in the UK and since its launch has gone from strength to strength, with tonnes of acts wanting to get themselves on screen and people like head of MTV Bass Jasmine Dotiwala and Kiss 100 DJ James Merritt offering their services to help.

"I'm really happy with how it has been going," says production manager Dominic.

"I knew we were creating something different when we started getting tonnes of emails from artists wanting to be on the show.

"We knew then we had to keep this going, there's a demand there."

The latest filming session took place on Thursday and included a huge range of artists, from rapper Shades, who is supporting N.E.R.D this summer, to singer songwriter Elsa Chapman, RnB artist Grace Obika, country singer Mike K and also James Jermaine, a finalist in Orange Unsigned 2008.

Complete with presenters Shaney Gittens and Kate Bond the experience of being on set was just like being on MTV or Top of the Pops.

"Me and a group of friends just decided to start a show that would give good unsigned artists a platform to promote themselves on a scale where people can see and view them," says Dominic.

"There's no other real platform for that other than maybe Orange Unsigned.

"We got a lot of feedback from our first recording, Kate Brien's one, with a lot of people saying they wanted to perform on the show and things have just gone well from there.

"We have a resident spot every month at London Metropolitan University from October putting on live shows now too."
