Such has been the anticipation and excitement surrounding Nick Harper's upcoming performance at the Halfmoon he has had to add a second date.

The accomplished guitarist, singer and songwriter will now play both Saturday night and Sunday night at the venue in Putney in order to fulfil the demand for his talents.

The 43-year-old is the son of another singer-songwriter, Roy Harper, who enjoyed huge success in his own right before helping to launch Nick's career when he let him appear on his Whatever Happened to Jugula album, a collaboration with Jimmy Page, in 1983.

Roy's fan base instantly loved his son and a decade later come his own release, an EP entitled Light At The End of The Kennel.

From there he supported Squeeze front man and songwriter Glenn Tilbrook, who offered him a job playing with the band and signed him to his own label, Quixotic Records.

Tours in the UK, USA and Japan, followed before his solo album Smithereens confirmed his place on the world stage and he went on a 40-date tour including appearances in New York and Glastonbury.

More album have followed since then and Nick continues to make music and tour.

His latest studio album, his sixth, Miracles For Beginners, was a return to the more stripped-down acoustic-based style.
