Epsom Jazz Club is going all altruistic for a night, and there promises to be a few blistered fingers and perforated ear drums by the end of it, because it is holding a 12-horu jazz-a-thon for charity.

The Epsom Riding for the Disabled Association are the beneficiaries of next Tuesday's marathon effort, which begins with the excellent Leo Appleyard Trio at noon and finishes with what should be a lively jam session.

In between, some of the highlights include some outstanding young outfits such as Jazz Proof and the Jazz Funk Collective which feature the brilliant Louie Palmer, Dan Redding and Duncan Eagles. Headlining is one of jazz's brightest new stars, the Andrea Vicari group, who can count Humprhye Littleton, the Guardian and Miles Davis's biographer Ian Carr among her fans.
