Kiss FM breakfast show Charlie Hedges is in town to play the A-Level results party at Pryzm nightclub in Kingston on August 18.

We caught up with the presenter, DJ and producer to talk about late nights, the life of a DJ and how she celebrated her own A-Level results…

How do you cope with the late nights of a club show and the early mornings of a breakfast radio show?

Very simple, a coffee in the morning and a smile knowing I'm doing the jobs I've always wanted to do.

What makes a good club gig for you?

I just love to see people having a good time, it doesn't matter where I play, as long as everyone is loving the music.

Where is the most amazing place you have DJ’d?

Space Ibiza I'd say up until now, however Ushuaia Ibiza has always been my dream to play and I'm excited to play Tinie Tempah's Disturbing Ibiza night there Friday 9th September alongside Tough Love, Charlesy, Charlie Sloth.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened while you have been DJ’ing?

I was playing HD festival a few years ago and Mark Knight's tour manager at the time came onto the stage to set up for Mark...he took my USB out and cut the whole tent’s music!

A lot of super-famous faces stop by the Kiss Breakfast show, who has been the most fun?

I really loved Margot Robbie she was a lot of fun and also Will I Am is always amazing too.

And who were you most in awe of?

I think it would have to be Calvin Harris, I find him so interesting to talk to as a fellow DJ and I got to speak to him about my productions too.

You’re playing Pryzm’s A-Level results party – how did you celebrate your own A-Levels?

I went out for one week straight, which to be fair I did whilst at college anyway but it was a great feeling.

A lot of teenagers getting their results will look up to you and your career – and to save them queuing up at the DJ booth at Pryzm on the night – what advice can you offer anyone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

I'd honestly say follow your dreams and be prepared for a lot of people saying ‘no’ before you get a lot of 'yes's, don't let anybody knock your confidence and work your balls off until you get to where you want to be.

You have many strings to you bow professionally, whether it is presenting, DJing or making your own tracks – what are you most proud of so far?

I'm extremely proud of my debut single #kaleidoscope which has just been released on Armada Deep and I got my first beatport chart position too.

What’s your biggest ambition for the foreseeable future?

To make more music and get a top 10 chart position. I’ve always wanted to play Ushuaia too and I can't believe I'm about to play there in a few weeks!
