Do you remember when robots were a futuristic fantasy and everyone thought they would be doing the laundry and cleaning by the end of the last millennium?

Well now you can recall those good old days as a new exhibition at The Old Sweet Shop in Southfields takes a warm-hearted look at the retro-tinged creations we thought would be commonplace by now.

Up-and-coming artists and illustrators have peeked into the inner world of the clunking creatures designed to make human lives easier and present their works in a diverse range of different media.

Artists featuring in the exhibition include Alec Strang, Emily Evans, Freya Harrison, Moon Keum, Vinish Shah, JMG, Catherine Rudie, Hanne Berkaak, Cristian Ortiz, Elli Alexandri and Serge Jupin.

Robots Illustration Exhibition, The Old Sweet Shop Gallery, Brookwood Road, July 10 to 25, Mon to Sat, 9.30am to 5.30pm. Call 020 8871 2272 or visit theoldsweetshop.org.
