The Hidden Treasures from the Mary Rose exhibition at Whitgift School has proved such a success it has been extended until September.

More than 250 artefacts, many of which have never been put on show before, from King Henry VIII's flagship, which sunk in 1545, have been on display in the school's exhibition space since April.

They include the skeleton of the ships dog, the only animal found on board, the reconstructed heads of the ships bosun and its gunner made especially for the exhibition, longbows, weaponry, rope, cannonballs, clothing, shoes, food eaten by the crew and even wooden bowls scratched with Tudor graffiti.

More than 10,000 school children have already been guided round the artefacts by specially trained dogs and enjoyed interactive displays, including a chance to cast your vote as to the reason why the Mary Rose sank.

The exhibition has now been extended for three weeks until September 1 to include the school holidays, with all Croydon residents allowed in for half price.
