Steve Gribbin lines up at the Comedy Tree in Putney on Friday alongside Diane Morgan, Otiz Cannelloni and MC Erich McElroy. He reveals all here.

Where do you live?

Ladywell, the so-called posh bit of Lewisham. This means that before they shoot you, they shout pull!

How long have you been gigging for?

As a solo act, 16 years.

What do you do?

Musical satirical topical political comedy with some gurning and self-loathing thrown in for good measure.

Who makes you laugh?

Alexei Sayle, Les Dawson, Sean Meo, Alun Cochrane, Bill Bailey, Jo Enright, Kevin Bridges, Paul Thorne, Sarah Millican, Andy Hamilton, Jeff Innocent, Jo Caulfield and Jo Brand to name just a few.

At which London comedy clubs do you usually perform?:

Comedy Store, Headliners, Bananas, Comedy tree, Up the Creek, Covent garden Comedy Club, Tattershall Castle, Big Night Out, Jongleurs Camden, Jongleurs Battersea, Jongleurs Bow, Rose Theatre Kingston.

What is your favourite London comedy venue?

Without a doubt, The Comedy Store.

What are you/should you be famous for?

I invented the classic "Americans/friendly fire" put down in Alexander's Wine Bar in Chester in 1991. Also, I have been one of the longest serving members of the team (since 1993) in The Cutting Edge, the weekly topical show at The Comedy Store.

Who is your celebrity doppelganger?

Trevor Eave when he used to be Eddy Shoestring and (no word of a lie) Ricky Gervais.

Whose sex face would you least like to see?

The two above, or failing that, David "Nice man" Cameron.

Audiences love it when I...

...get really angry and fly off on one.

Audiences hate it when I…

...am drunker than they are.
