Capital FM DJ Greg Burns will be swapping his decks for a microphone this weekend as he provides the laughs at The Comedy Tree in Putney.

The drivetime presenter has actually been a stand-up comic for 11 years and been the warm-up act for such programmes as Have I Got News For You, Room 101 and The Catherine Tate Show and even had a cameo role in hit sitcom The Office.

Also on the bill this Saturday will be offbeat Spencer Brown, who has released an album of his best gags and appeared on America's Last Comic Standing, and musical comic James Sherwood, who spoofs everyone from Paul Simon to Guns 'n' Roses.

Brown will also be appearing at the Wimbledon Comedy Tree on Saturday night alongside Glaswegian Kevin Bridges, who reached the final of So You're Think You're Funny in 2005 when just 18 years of age, with former Big Brother's Big Mouth presenter Jack Whitehall headlining.

At Banana Cabaret Ian Stone, Paul Sinha, Justin Moorhouse and Tom Wrigglesworth will all be on stage on both Friday and Saturday night.

Stone was recently voted in the top 10 best stand-ups by The Independent and has appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, while Sinha is highly-rated throughout the comedy circuit.

The former GP has just announced he will again be appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year with brand new show, 39 years of solitude, while on July 3 he will be performing a full length show in famous performance space The Udderbelly (a 400-seat inflatable cow) in London's South Bank.

This Saturday Gina Yashere will be at Jongleurs in Battersea, supported by Raymond Mearns, Steve Williams, Otiz Cannelloni and Mike Wozniak.
