A former Pop Idol runner up will be appearing in a new musical celebrating the world's best west end hits. Gareth Gates will be headlining Momentous Musicals at the New Wimbledon Theatre for one night only in a show which pays homage to some of the most loved musicals including West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Miss Saigon.
Gareth's path into musical theatre began in 2008 with A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe.
He went on to play the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End and toured the UK as Marius in the 25th anniversary cast of Les Misérables, reprising the role in the West End.
Gareth will be joined on stage by west end star Rachael Wooding, who has already performed in hits Jersey Boys and Hairspray, an ensemble of dancers and a live band.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, July 14, the show has been moved to Thursday, July 19, to allow Gareth to join the cast of Loserville at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
