Bond girl Gemma Arterton and Kevin Spacey are seeking out south west London's undiscovered film makers as they help launch Virgin Media Shorts 2009.
The short film competition will enable millions of people across the country in to see your film with the winning prize of £30,000 funding to make their next short film.
To mark the launch, Arterton has been captured as her favourite actress Elizabeth Taylor in the 1950s classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
She said: “I hope that by taking people back to the Golden Age of cinema, we’re giving all budding film makers food for thought.”
Spacey will be judging the competition for the second year running.
He said: “It is increasingly difficult to get a break in the film industry, we're hoping to uncover and champion the next big thing in British film.”
To get your first step onto the Hollywood ladder, film makers are invited to upload their entries through the website, virginmediashorts.co.uk.
Deadline for entries is June 22, 2009. Entries will be short-listed down and the judging panel will go on to select the winning film.
Winners will be announced at a glitzy awards ceremony in central London on September 22.
