Wimbledon Championships 2022 (Church Road And Somerset Road, Sw19)
(Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The London Borough of Merton Council, on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, hereby give notice that for purposes relating to danger or damage connected with terrorism, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Church Road and Somerset Road, as required, during the Wimbledon Championships 2021.

2. Between the hours of 6am on Monday 27th June 2021 and 11.59pm on Monday 11th July 2022, when and where appropriate signs are being displayed, no person will:-

(a) enter or proceed in:

(i) Church Road, between its junction with Bathgate Road and its junction with Somerset Road;

(ii) Somerset Road, between its junction with Marryat Road and its junction with Newstead Way;

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. The Order will confer powers to police constables and persons authorised by them to direct that any provision of the Order be suspended, commenced or revived, and to place barriers and obstructions on the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above, as they consider appropriate. The Order will also confer the power of discretion to police constables and authorised persons which will enable them to facilitate limited access to certain vehicles and pedestrians, including residents and those wishing to attend the event.

4. Alternative routes for diverted traffic will be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs but will likely use one or more of the following roads:-Church Road, High Street Wimbledon, Parkside, Wimbledon Parkside, Inner Park Road, Augustus Road, Replingham Road, Merton Road, Durnsford Road, Gap Road, Leopold Road, Arthur Road and St Mary's Road.

5. The Order will come into operation on Monday 27th June 2022, and remain in force until Monday 11th July 2022 inclusive.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
SYCAMORE ROAD, SW19
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate development works at No. 44 Sycamore Road, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Sycamore Road, the east side, from a point 12.5 metres north of the southern building line of Nos. 61 to 71 Sycamore Road, southward for a distance of 5 metres (from the southern extremity of the most southern disabled persons parking place southward for a distance of 5 metres).

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes in any emergency.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order will come into operation on Friday 24th June 2022 and will remain in force until 23rd October 2022.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
BUCKFAST ROAD, SM4
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate junction improvement works in Buckfast Road at its junction with Abbotsbury Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in Buckfast Road.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-

(a) enter or proceed in Buckfast Road, SM4; from the eastern kerb-line of Abbotsbury Road south-eastward for a distance of 30 metres;

(b) to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Abbotsbury Road, Hazelwood Avenue and Central Road or vice-versa.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions during any emergency; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference.

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on Monday 27th June 2022 and it is anticipated that the works would take two weeks to complete. However, should further works be required, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
(BLENHEIM CLOSE, SW20)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate telecommunication works to be undertaken in Blenheim Close, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person would:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Blenheim Close, between a point 35 metres south of its junction with Blenheim Road to a point in line with the common boundary of Nos. 1 and 2 Blenheim Close; or

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Blenheim Close, between a point 30 metres south of its junction with Blenheim Road to a point in line with the eastern building wall of No. 2 Blenheim Road; or

(c) enter or proceed on the western and southern footways adjacent to the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above.

3. The restrictions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Blenheim Close is a cul-de-sac and no diversion for vehicular traffic is applicable. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

5. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply: -

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) so as to prevent pedestrian access.

7. The Order would come into operation on Monday 4th July 2022, with the works anticipated to be carried out between 8am and 5pm that day. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months and its provisions would be re-introduced during that period should further works be required.
