Various Roads, Sutton, Temporary Road Closures to facilitate water main laying works

LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)


1. The Council of the London Borough of Sutton with the agreement of Transport for London hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate water main laying works and because these works are being executed on or near the carriageway it intends to make an Order the effect of which is summarised in paragraph 3 below

2. The Order will come into effect on Monday 25th April 2022 with works carried out in phases and is expected to take 5 months to complete, however the Order will remain in force for 10 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily in prohibit all vehicular traffic including pedal cycles from entering or exiting in;

- Banstead Road South
- between its junction with The Warren and Beeches Walk o between its junction with Beeches Walk and Banstead Road;

-
 Beeches Walk

- The Warren, between its junctions with Banstead Road South and Pine Walk

- Crossways
- between its junction with Banstead Road South and Banstead Road, to its junction with The Byway
- between The Byway and Langley Park Road Note: Access to The Byway will be maintained at all times with part of the carriageway controlled by traffic signals during the works

4. Alternative routed for vehicular traffic whilst the prohibitions are in place will be as follows and all are vice versa:-

- Banstead Road South and Banstead Road Closures, Staplehurst Road, Woodmansterne Road, Croydon Lane, Sutton Lane and Downs Road;

- The Warren closure, Pine Walk and West Way

- Beeches Walk Closure, Woodmansterne Road and The Warren;

- Crossways closure, Banstead Road South, Chiltern Road, The Gallop

5. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
