(Redhills Lane/Terrace, Durham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2021
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 100 metres of Redhills Lane / Terrace that extends westerly from number 3 Priors Path to the rear of number 14 Grays Terrace, Durham. It will also be necessary to suspend the one-way order on Redhills Lane during the works to permit local access/egress as detailed in the County of Durham (Unclassified Redhills Lane, Durham City) (One-way Traffic and Revocation) Order 2005 to enable electricity service renewal works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure from Sutton Street / North Road south onto A690 then south westerly on A690 Crossgate Peth to Nevilles Cross then northerly on A167 to the junction with Redhills Lane to the western side of the closure. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on 20/9/21 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
