The draft South London Waste Plan was submitted by the London Boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton to the Secretary of State for examination-in-public on 19 January 2021. Steve Normington BSc DipTP MRICS MRTPI FIQ FIHE and G J Fort BA PGDip LLM MCD MRTPI are the inspectors appointed to carry out the independent examination of the South London Waste Plan and, as part of the independent examination, they will hold a number of public hearing sessions.
The hearing sessions will commence at 09:30 on Wednesday 1 September 2021 at Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX. The relevant COVID regulations/guidelines, in force at the time, will be in operation together with any specific to the venue. People who do not wish to attend in person will be able to exercise their right to be heard by the Inspectors (where this applies) separately through video conferencing software. Arrangements will also be in place for people to observe the hearing sessions in person and remotely via livestreaming. However, please be aware that the COVID pandemic may require alteration to these arrangements at short notice.
