REVOCATION TO THE DECISION TO MAKE PRESCRIBED ALTERATIONS TO HACKBRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Notice is given in accordance with section 19 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and paragraph 20 of Schedule 3 to the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that the London Borough of Sutton proposes to revoke the decision to make prescribed alterations to Hackbridge Primary School Hackbridge Road, Wallington, SM6 7AX and not to implement the approved proposals.
The London Borough of Sutton published proposals to expand Hackbridge Primary School by an additional 36 full-time nursery places and to change the age range of the school to 2 to 11 years on 17 January 2019. On the same date, the London Borough of Sutton published related proposals to discontinue Spencer Nursery School. Copies of the published proposals are available online at
Copies can be also be obtained from: Laura Byrnes, London Borough of Sutton, People Directorate, Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA or by firstname.lastname@example.org
The London Borough of Sutton published notice of approval of the proposals on 21 March 2019 to take effect from 31 March 2020, subject to academy arrangements being agreed for Hackbridge Primary School from April 2020. The reason for the approval of the proposal was to enable joint management and governance of Hackbridge Primary School and the nursery provision at Spencer Nursery School to continue when Hackbridge Primary School becomes an academy.
Hackbridge Primary School is not now expected to become an academy school before April 2020. In the light of this change in circumstances the London Borough of Sutton considers that implementation of the proposals would be inappropriate and proposes to revoke the proposals and not now to implement the alterations to the School.
Within four weeks from the date of publication of these revocation proposals, any person may object to or make comments on the proposed revocation by sending them to Laura Byrnes, London Borough of Sutton, People Directorate, Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA or by emailing
Anyone wishing to make a representation regarding this proposal must send their Representations to the address above by 6 February 2020
Signed: Kieran Holliday, Head of Pupil Based Commissioning.
