Tory council win in 2014 would be more costly (From Your Local Guardian)

• "Cllr Hanna’s claim that my Conservative colleagues and I could not provide better services for less cost beggars belief (Tory Council win in 2014 would be more costly). Come the local elections in 2014, Labour is going to be hard pushed to defend their unsavoury habit of cutting services and wasting taxpayers money by taking ridiculous decisions such as:-
  
  Scrapping weekly street cleaning, closing Weir Road recycling centre, and leaving most of our parks untended while building up over £40million in cash reserves
  
  Making Council staff redundant, then re-hiring them as consultants on up to £850 per day
  
  Publicly naming the site on which we planned to build a new primary school, sending the value of the site sky-rocketing, escalating the school places crisis and forcing our tiniest children to travel miles to get an education
  
  I could go on. Examples of this Labour Council’s incompetence are not difficult to identify. Thank goodness the Conservative-led Government has taken steps to prevent them hiking our Council Tax.
