Knitting for Gold!
9:24am Monday 28th May 2012 in Richmond
My Mother Patricia Blake has been creating shop windows with her best friend for sewing shop "Creations" in Barnes for many years now.
The latest window is truly her best work so far - an absolutely stunning Jubilee themed window, which features knitted figures of the Royal Family - William and Kate, the Queen and Prince Philip - and even the Archbishop - on their very own lovingly handmade Chartwell barge!
Already it is quite a talking point locally.
The window is only on show in the run up to the Olympics, after which it will be replaced with a stunning Olympic themed window. This will include a whole range of knitted figures made by local reisdents of Barnes, East sheen and Mortlake who have been working on the project for many months.
Locally the window is very well known and a real talking point for local reisdents, and gives alot of delight to people of all ages.
I can provide more information and great photographs if this story is of interest.
Many thanks, Catherine Based on information supplied by Catherine Blake.
