Stragglers Junior Handicap - 2012

Junior runners, and aspiring runners, up to age 17, should mark Thursday 26th April in their diaries as this is the first race in the Stragglers Junior Handicap series. Registration is from 7 pm for a 7:30 pm start.

The junior handicap race is held each month from April to August and this is the 10th Series. There will be a special event to celebrate this on Thursday 5th July. Runners are allotted a start time depending on their previous performances, with the slower runners starting first. First time runners are given a handicap according to their age.

Points are awarded for completing the course, with additional points for the first 10 places. Results are published for each race, and points are accumulated over all 6 races for the end of season awards.

The course, which is just over 2 km, consists of 4 laps of the grass area in front of the Hawker Centre, Lower Ham Road, Kingston-upon-Thames. New or inexperienced runners, if they find 2 km a bit far, can run just one lap. Under 4’s all run just one lap.
