On the 15th of February, a group of girls from Nonsuch High School in Cheam walked from Worcester Park to Epsom Downs in aid of the Wings of Hope charity whose aim is to provide education and opportunities for children in Malawi and India. The walk overall totalled 3 hours and they raised over £500 for their selected charity. As well as the sponsored walk they girls have also packed bags in Asda Burgh Heath, had a cake sale and also a tombola in their schools fair.
One of the girls said that ‘It’s been a wonderful experience fundraising for this charity, I never thought about doing it before and it has been an enjoyable and interesting opportunity. Taking part in the fundraising has made me realise that I have so many things and I take for granted – I’m so pleased that I have used my time to do something meaningful.’ Based on information supplied by .
