More than 170 Brownies from Weybridge, Wallington, Worcester Park, Carshalton and Merton joined together for a day of fun, excitement and creativity last Saturday at Heyswood campsite.
As well as enjoying the fun of bouncy castles, sideshow games and grass sledging the girls also enjoyed swimming or paddling inflatable canoes in the swimming pool whilst collecting plastic ducks.
The Brownies also left with a carrier bag full of items they had made at the various activity bases and were proudly showing off their painted stones, badges, decorated glasses, bracelets, colourful seahorses and monster pens and many other things to their waiting parents on departure.
‘Everyone seemed to have a great time despite the heavy downpour of rain that curtailed the day slightly but even then the girls either listened contently to the rain from inside tents or took shelter in the log cabin or under gazebos and some just seemed to just enjoy getting wet’ said Joan Pearson, a Brownie leader from Merton and one of the event organisers.
