15 year old Lisandro Pinto has been selected to represent London's most exciting and innovative dance troupe, the Blue Boy Entertainment Hip Hop Dance Company.

Lisandro, from Lambeth, has been a part of the Jack Petchey Foundation and Royal Academy of Dance partnership programme, Step into Dance for the last three years while this latest achievement marks a huge step forward in his dance career.

Caroline Andrews, who teaches Lisandro at Dunraven said, “Step into Dance motivated Lisandro to strive for a future his is so passionate about and all his hard work is really paying off. Working closely with Step into Dance teacher Oliver Fitzgerald, he developed in so many ways. He is driven to succeed and is much more mature in his attitude towards school as well.”

Lisandro won the best solo battler in Step into Dance’s Step in2 Battle competition in 2013, and began applying to colleges to study dance.

When asked why he dances, Lisandro replied, “There are three reasons why I dance; firstly I love dance, secondly I love dance, and thirdly I love dance!”

Step into Dance teacher Oliver Fitzgerald said, “I have more respect for the youth of today than ever. Each student I teach is unique and comes from a totally different place and background. When their energy is put into something creative you can see a huge difference in students’ attitudes and communication skills.”
