I know this is a long shot, but I would like to re-establish contact with an old friend, Stuart Harper, and wonder if you could help.
Stuart and I met when we were both working on geological mapping parties in outback Australia in 1967. We both had dreams of driving overland from India to the UK, so we joined forces to do the trip. In early 1969 we landed in Colombo, Sri Lanka with a tiny Fiat minivan. After many adventures we arrived in London in June 1969 and rented a flat in Worple Road, Wimbledon. Our story is told in a series of captioned photographs which I took on the journey which I have posted on the Flickr website -

Stuart, who was also as keen photographer, found work at a camera store in the Wimbledon High Street, just outside the railway station. Consequently he may have been well known to at least the photographic community in the area. Like many traditional camera stores, I believe this one has long closed.
We lost contact about 40 years ago (!) after I left Wimbledon to return to Australia where I have since lived. I have tried using online sources to find any Stuart Harper in the Wimbledon area without success. Perhaps one of your readers remembers him and can shed some light on his present situation?
