25 years ago today, the NASA space shuttle 'Discovery' was launched carrying the renowned Hubble Space Telescope, which has been unlocking the secrets of our universe ever since... Hubble has arguably helped to shape modern day space exploration, giving astronomers an insight into new and unknown galaxies, stars, and planets, all in high resolution. It has helped answer some of the most compelling astronomical questions of our time, but has equally left us with even more unanswered questions. Some of Hubble's most remarkable moments include discovering the way planets are formulated and it also unearthed compelling evidence for the red shift theory. Sadly it is expected that the vital systems will render sometime in the near future, meaning that Hubble will no longer be of use to NASA unless restorations are made, which seems highly unlikely. It is expected to return into the earth's atmosphere sometime between 2019 and 2030, but this does not mean we will stop receiving the beautiful deep space images as it will simply be replaced by the James Webb telescope and who knows what the Webb telescope may discover....
