Students from across Richmond test careers app at M-is Offices in Old Isleworth

A group of 21 students from six secondary schools around Twickenham and Richmond got an incredible and rare opportunity to test a careers app in the M-IS offices in Old Isleworth on Friday night. M-IS is a communication, marketing and brand development company with a broad portfolio of well- known clients, they have devised a careers game for use with students from year 9 upwards.

Following a fun ice breaker game, the students were divided into teams and split into eight groups. Each group had to solve problems linked to different trade routes. The groups performed different tasks followed by open discussions around the solutions. Each group was awarded points according to their answers.

Throughout the game, the students were asked to give verbal feedback and they also completed a written evaluation at the end which will be used to make the app fun, age appropriate and informative.

One student stated “I really enjoyed myself, I thought the game was fun and was very creative” while another student said “I thought it was really good and a great experience but there were things that could have been changed or made better”

It was a great way to learn about different jobs that you could do when you leave school and the M-IS offices were amazing!
