54 year old dies after being hit by a train.
During the early hours of the 27th of January, a man died after being hit by a train in the South West of London. Paramedics were called to Hampton Wick station at 7:36am.
However, they were not able to do anything for the patient.
A London ambulance spokesman said, "Sadly the patient was dead at the scene"
Passengers were led out from the end of the train at 8:50. Shortly after, the station was closed. Later on in the evening, the man was identified as a 54 year old from East Molesey.
Passersby commented, "The guys that were there did the best they could to make sure the person was given as much dignity as possible"
"It was really awful and I was very shaken by it all. I feel very sorry for the poor driver of the train."
"The passengers were led off the back of the train so nobody was able to see anything that had happened"
The incident resulted in 30 minutes train delays and disturbances until 11am. Transport for London have said that they always do there best in these sort of situations.
Some question if it were possible to save more lives with a more efficient paramedic team.
TFL contradicted this statement by saying that however fast they are, sometimes there is nothing they can do.
After they added "We do our best to shielding the scene from the public eye and always treat the casualty with as much dignity as possible.”
