Although Children In Need took place on 20th November 2009, it still holds a major role in helping children.

Children In Need is a British charity that works with children in the United Kingdom. It is organised by the BBC. Since the 1980s, Children In Need has raised over £500 million. To raise money, the BBC holds many events dedicated to helping, whether it be: TV programmes, music singles being released, or West End shows performing especially. The Children In Need charity raised just over £20 million this year alone. The logo for Children In Need is represented by "Pudsey Bear" - a yellow bear with a spotted bandage over one eye, the bear was introduced in the year of 1985.

This year, BBC held a live TV programme, hosted by Terry Wogan, Tess Daly, and Alesha Dixon. Many well known music artists/bands perfomed, some including: JLS, Pixie Lott, Sugababes, Peter Andre, and many more. Many popular TV soaps contributed to raise money for the charity, ranging from: the Eastenders cast performing a Motown tribute to the Hollyoaks cast doing a Queen tribute, a Fame tribute from The One Show to a dance-off from Diversity and the BBC newsreaders; there was plenty to be a part of.
