Why does the planned expansion of Dundonald School include adult leisure facilities?
A pavilion is already conveniently located close to where matches are played and the children’s play area. The pavilion has been regularly updated by the council and meets the needs of the users.
As a retired headteacher, I am really concerned that a significant proportion of the budget for the Dundonald School expansion being used to replace existing leisure facilities rather than for education.
The children and staff at Dundonald work in very cramped conditions. If the number of pupils is to double, every square metre possible will be needed for teaching or the new building will duplicate the existing conditions rather than providing improvements.
