Our MP is out of touch

I see our MP Mr Hammond was on his hind legs in the House of Commons this week, saying the people of Wimbledon did not appreciate the former Mayor raising money for extra bus services.

More worryingly, Mr Hammond tried to amend legislation surrounding quality contracts which regulate local bus services (April 29, Local Transport Bill, Col.181).

These contracts allow local authorities to regulate routes, fares and frequencies with the aim of creating more sustainable and reliable transport, improving the service and encouraging people to use public transport.

Even though his changes wouldn’t have applied to London (as the Mayor is in control of transport), it shows the danger of backing Mr Hammond. He is against the freedom pass guarantee, massive investment in London’s buses and quality contracts.

He was wrong to say in the House of Commons that he speaks on behalf of the people of Wimbledon. Mr Hammond is out of touch.

Would the Parking Office like to let me know why it needs 3 parking attendants outside Manor Park Farm of an afternoon when the children are coming out of school. Not only that one (idiot) was standing there with his Ipod on dancing away looking a complete moron. What an image it gives this service.

Our MP is supportive of the Freedom Pass according to him and Hansard.
