Since taking up the transport brief at City Hall, I’ve received a great deal of correspondence regarding the X26 bus route.
I understand that the X26 bus is going to become a twice-hourly service from November 22 and TfL will be carrying out research to “assess the value placed on a limited stop service linking major town centres”.
Given that I have received various comments about the X26 service, I’m really trying to get to the bottom of how people feel about this bus service.
I would be extremely interested in hearing people’s opinions on the following issues: where the X26 stops, whether the X26 is used as an express bus between local centres or whether it is used more as a means simply to get to Heathrow, whether people will take the bus rather than the car to Heathrow if the X26 is twice hourly, is there enough space for luggage onboard, should TfL charge a premium fare for journeys to Heathrow and any other ways in which the service be improved.
If anyone has any contributions then I would be delighted to receive their letters addressed to me at City Hall, Queen’s Walk, SE1 2AA as soon as possible. I look forward to working with your readers on this matter.
