The West Barnes Conservative team have been in communication with Network Rail for a number of years - fighting for step-free access to Motspur Park Station. This is an ambition that we will continue to pursue with the support of Stephen Hammond MP, the Minister for Transport.
We are not willing to make step-free access an election promise as it is not directly in our power to do so.
Implying that it is within our power would be an attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of residents for electoral gain. Like most of our residents, we are sick and tired of certain political parties that are in the habit of making promises they cannot and will not keep.
We can promise that this issue will remain a priority for us and we will continue to lobby on behalf of our residents - as we have done for several years.
