The cost of parking outside my house has gone up 83 per cent in three years.
When the controlled parking zone was forced through by changing the criteria in 2003 the cost of parking outside my house went up from nothing to £30 (for the first car).
Three years later the council now charges £55, an increase of 83 per cent. Left unchecked, what is to stop the council increasing every year at the same rate?
I believe the break down of the costs and where the tax goes should be in the public domain. I tried to find out from the council, but the supervisor was on holiday and there was no one else to provide the information. As there cannot be many staff in the office, where does all the money go?
