I am 15 years old and I am currently undergoing treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital. I think it is appalling that the residents are complaining about the new teenage unit.
I can assure you that anyone undergoing chemotherapy will not want to be partying every night, that will probably be spending most of their time throwing up on the drugs.
The childrens unit at the hospital is very smalll, and they desperately need this new unit. I have spent many sleepless nights in the overcrowded ward listening to babies crying as they are also unwell too.
Obviously the residents don’t understand what it is like to go through such a traumatic ordeal, and I can’t believe how heartless some people can be.
The staff at the Marsden are excellent but they also find it hard to work in overcrowded conditions, they still do their best though and what an amazing job they do.
This unit is very much needed for both patients and staff. I just hope none of the residents complaining never get cancer themselves and have to go through the ordeal that me and many others have had to go through.
