Fortunately we bought a large pumpkin a couple of weeks ago and made some superb pumpkin soup.
We then tried to buy another pumpkin the week leading to Halloween and it seems there was a shortage and none of the major supermarkets had any left.
Maybe it was because of the wet start to the season that caused this shortage which is a shame because there have been many recipes printed giving us recipes to try using pumpkin. I am not sure but I think in Australia you can buy pumpkins all the year round.
