Yesterday I was taking my little boy to the play area in Grove Park and turned my ankle over on the uneven tarmac there. It was extremely painful and I was unable to stand.

Two young lads from the play area came over and asked if I was alright, and went to the Grove building for help.

Two very kind ladies helped me into the Grove and looked after me and my little boy while we waited for my husband, and another lady passerby helped me to our car.

A helpful friend invited my little boy for dinner, and we went to St Helier Hospital where I was examined, x-rayed and treated in under an hour.

I was not able to ask for the names of any of the strangers who helped me, but I want to thank everyone so much.

It was a very frightening experience, and particularly in view of the grim events in Grove Park recently it is really good to see that Carshalton is still full of kind people who will help out in an emergency.

Thanks also to St Helier accident and emergency for your amazing, kind and efficient service.

It was so fast we did not even have to pay for the parking.

Thankfully my ankle was sprained rather than broken, and should hopefully heal soon.
