I read your article (UKIP MP hopeful under fire for tweeting 'Jihadi John' should have killed himself’, March 2) with dismay. I was not concerned about the comment from Richard Hilton but with the response of Mitcham & Morden Labour on their twitter feed who rushed to condemn it.
If only they were so quick to condemn Islamic extremism. As we now know, 98 per cent of people agree with him.
It seems only the BBC and the local Labour Party do not. With previously reported attacks on our local Ahmadiyya Muslim community by other Muslims, I would have thought Siobhain Mcdonagh and her team should have taken the opportunity to condemn Jihadi John rather than jump on a PC bandwagon to attack our local UKIP candidate instead.
