Letter to the Editor: Modern planes are quiet and objects of beauty
In reply to Epsom Resident about aircraft noise (More planes over Epsom? October 23) I could not disagree more.
The writer may have had a cause to grumble a few decades ago when there would have been aircraft such as the VC10,BAC 1-11 and Concorde flying overhead.
The modern jets of today are so quiet and fly several thousand feet above Epsom as to be hardly worth mentioning.
I love seeing them for their engineering beauty and a sign of connection with the rest of the world.
