Letter to the Editor: MOT parking fine is rip-off
My car went in for an MOT at Capital Motors on Pepys Road. When I collected the car it was parked on Pepys Road a double yellow off their driveway. I received a fine from Merton Council of £55.00 for being parked illegally.
I appealed against the penalty as I had not parked the car on a double yellow.
However, I received a letter from the council refusing to waive the penalty on the grounds it is a matter between myself and the garage. How is this fair as Capital say they not responsible? You should rename Merton to Rip Off. Motorists beware, they are short of money and targeting innocent drivers.
