Martin Olney (Bored by elections, February 12) is possibly a little less bored with the upcoming elections than he claims.
As he is deputy chairman of Stamford Ward Residents Association and an active presence on social media on the association's behalf I would not be in the least surprised if he appeared alongside me on the ballot paper as a candidate in those elections.
I'm not knocking him as I'm sure we are both motivated by the chance to serve the community. It's just that the residents associations are as much a political party as all the rest of us, they just like to pretend otherwise. I mean they are even having a manifesto launch soon.
So Martin's letter was as political as all the others.
Looking forward to the elections, democracy is too precious to be bored with.
Steve Dyke
Prospective Labour candidate for Stamford Ward
