I just have to say that my wife and I have been pleasantly surprised by the retirement development on Waterloo Road. The finished article is tasteful and in keeping with adjacent properties. We were quite concerned that we would end up with another vile, overbearing monstrosity like the Travelodge or the pastel-shaded flats opposite.
When we saw the proposals in the Guardian a while back, we were still suspicious that something awful was going to be added later.
I think the developers did a lovely job, and seem to understand Epsom’s traditional values. We may even consider moving in there ourselves in a few years.
This sort of thing is good for the town as well – never underestimate the grey pound!
