Saturday

So Saturday I had to go to work to make up for some time I had off earlier in the week.

Whilst I am sat there in the empty office, Holly phones me.

“Are you still making a curry tonight?” She asks.

“Yeah, I can do, I forgot I offered to make one to be honest”

“Ok, well, we need to get some chicken, can you get some from Sainsburys or something?”

“Yeah, I'll pop in there after work”

5.30 comes and I make my way over to the local supermarket. On the way in, I see some roses for sale. Feeling in quite a generous mood, I decide to treat Holly. I pick up two bunches and carry on with my shopping.

Around 6.30, I get back home. Give her the roses and we both sit down for about 20 minutes. Her sister phones. I get up and whisper to her “I'll get cracking with dinner”. She nods and whispers back "ok".

I walk into the kitchen and see that the washing up still needs doing. So, I crack on with the washing up, ensuring that I have all the pots and pans I need washed and ready. I then put everything else away and I finally make a start on the cooking.

On the menu, was tandoori chicken, chicken korma, rice and naan bread. The whole meal takes about 45 odd minutes to prepare and cook.

We then sit in the living room, eating our curries whilst watching X-Factor. We both finish our meals and sit back.

As I am sitting there, thinking about how good I am, by getting her some flowers, doing the washing up and cooking her an exceedingly good curry (even if I do say so myself), Holly looks over at me and says in her most pathetic sounding voice possible, “go to McDonalds and get me a McFlurry”...
