Work experience, I’m sure everyone who has gone through the process of work experience was terrified up until the day they started right? I know for certain I was. Going into the big scary world of real life, and actually having to interact with the human kind, is my kind of nightmare, as I’m sure it is many of yours too. However there are countless advantages to getting to deal with the real world, one being that you get to see what it’s like to have a real job, so when it comes to you having a paying job, whenever it may be that you get one, you will be fully equipped with a good sense of how to go about what you’re doing. Another being that it teaches you how to talk to the public and tests out your patience skills, because we all know that there will be a fair few “irritating” customers that no matter how many times you tell them you don’t have something in stock, they will be insistent that you sold it seven years ago, so you still must have it. Nevertheless there are a few downers to it, thinking you could have a lay in for two weeks, but in actual fact you have to wake up earlier than a regular school day, your feet aching after being stood for eight hours of the day and your face hurting from smiling at complete strangers all day. But I can honestly say, my work experience was one of my most favourite experiences throughout attending Waldegrave.
