‘Christmas jumper day was the highlight of the term’ said an 11-year-old student.
This fall across the country children, teens and teachers all gave in a pound to help those less fortunate. what better time to open our pockets than the birth of Jesus the miracle baby of the virgin mother?
So, what is Christmas jumper day? well, it’s the day where we wear the embarrassing christmas jumper granny made for us stuffed at the back of the closet. ‘it not as embarrassing because everyone is wearing one’ remarked Ellen. In exchange for not being in uniform children must contribute a pound which goes to those in need.
Save The Children is a charity dedicated to helping children (and their parents) around the world. The money raised will go towards improving infant mortality rates and health care, bringing technologies to areas that desperately need them, helping to educate children and working to improve life for children who are often overlooked because of many reasons these include being a female, disabled, refugee or from a minority.

Its safe to say the day was a success, dressing up getting the christmas spirt was just the day we needed to end the term on a high note and get ready for Christmas! Christmas is a time everyone should be surrounded with love and loved ones. Not everyone has the luxury to have a lavish lunch spread across a long table and a tree overflowing with presents. Therefore, giving to charity is crucial, so that everyone can relish in these pleasures and it would no longer be a ‘luxury’.
