Storm Dorris hit on Friday but local areas are still coming to terms with the effects of the high winds. At the Lady Eleanor Holles School, the main door was blown off and at another school, St Pauls, parts of a fence were heavily damaged by falling branches.
Walkers on the river path could not comprehend the damage caused by the wind saying, 'its astonishing that the wind did this'.
Elsewhere along the river bank other trees had been blown down and the wind had caused the weaker willow trees to be torn apart. On parts of the river path branches had been cleared to the side but they had earlier been on the path.
At another local school, Hampton, the sight screens for cricket had been blown over and damaged also.
