Although it’s known as the shortest month of the year, there are many events to look forward to in the upcoming month. Here are a few of them.

Until 26th February

Celebrate the Chinese new year at the Magical Lantern Festival. Held at Chiswick House, it features over 50 stunning illuminations ranging from Big Ben to scenes of Asia. There'll also be a virtual reality area, an ice rink, and plenty of street food stalls. To top it all off, there will be a giant fire rooster symbolising the new zodiac animal.

4 Feb-5 Mar

Held at the picturesque Kew Gardens will be the Orchid’s Festival. Inspired by traditional and modern Indian culture, the gardens will be transformed by floral installations. Alongside the display will be film screenings in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Adult prices are from £8.00 whilst a child ticket is £2.50.

Pancake Day

Watch MPs battle out to win the Rehab Parliamentary Pancake Race. The race is held on Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday) outside the Houses of Parliament. The event will raise money for Rehab, a charity for disabled people and others who are marginalised; helping in education, training, health and social care. The event starts at 10AM.

4 Feb-31 Mar

Lovers of Harry Potter will want to see Directing Dobby at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. A display dedicated to one of the most loved characters in the series. Learn about the motion-capture technology used to create Dobby and make him mimic you in an interactive experience. The exhibit is included in a standard studio tour ticket.
