Do schools in 2017 offer enough opportunities outside of lessons?
A main attraction of CHSG is that lessons do not only take place in the classroom. Carshalton Girls offer a wide range of opportunities for all students to take part in, whatever interest or hobby they have.
Some students at Carshalton Girls believe these opportunities are so beneficial in school life and make up the school we have.
Emily Morris said: 'Work experience is a good opportunity because I will be able to learn about what it's like to have a job and work. I have been on loads of trips such as business and technology and it showed me what jobs I could get which are related with technology. CHSG is a great school because it always offers great opportunities which are available to all if one is willing to make the effort. I am a prefect which gives me the chance to have a responsibility within the school community.
Another student, Grace, said: 'CHSG is good at offering opportunities for a variety of different reasons - for example, trips - they do it for so many subjects such as dance, PE, drama, science and languages. They also do end-of-year trips for students to create opportunities for everyone. So therefore this is why Carshalton Girls' opportunities are so beneficial to our school community!'
Another great opportunity is for all students from year 7-10 - it is the chance to perform in the yearly school play. From working backstage to performing solos, every student willing to participate is given a role. This opportunity helps build confidence and gives students a change to interact with other students in different year groups with similar hobbies.'
Sport is also an enjoyable activity at the school. Netball, football, badminton, table tennis - and even a sports trip to France - there is something for everyone!'
