A BRENT policeman was today warned “all sentencing options remain open” after admitting having sex with a vulnerable woman while on duty.
John Richmond, 53, of Buckinghamshire, pleaded guilty last month to misconduct in a public office, after having sex with the 45-year-old woman whilst on duty for the Metropolitan Police.
Mr Richmond, who worked for the missing persons unit in Kilburn, visited the woman at her home two days after she had taken a drug overdose and discharged herself from hospital, on December 9, 2008.
He was due to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court today, but defence counsel Bridget Petherbridge asked for probation reports to be rewritten.
Judge Gregory Stone QC agreed, but warned the former Detective Constable he could still face jail for taking advantage of a vulnerable woman.
The sentencing was adjourned until later this month.
